Home Sweet Home

It is nice sometimes to deviate from the norm. To do something different than we normally do. That is why I loved it when I started making cards. It was different from my regular scrapbooking. That is also why I so enjoyed working on a home decor project recently!

We received some 7 Gypsies 12 x 12 black photo trays in our store and I decided to make one up to be used for a class. I had so much fun mixing papers, lace, buttons, stickers, twine, brads, stitching, quilting and die-cuts!

Each little 4 x 6 space became a special creation with each one representing something related to my home!

For an added touch I found some chipboard keys that I Glimmer Misted and hung from the top.

too.much.fun!

It is nice to work on our scrapbooks, but it is also nice to showcase our paper crafting outside the album once in a while. My finished project is going to make a perfect addition to the entryway in our home.

So, what special projects/crafts have you been working on besides your regular scrapbooking?

It's Friday...

and not Wednesday, but I am finally able to post my Little Red Wagon creation for this week. Carolyn posted the challenge and she wanted us to create something in a Birthday theme!

We can all use birthday cards so this was a fun and easy challenge. I decided to make up a card that is l-o-n-g and pretty.

I used papers and stickers from My Minds Eye, added some ribbon, Stickles and a pretty pin and there you go!

Why not make up your own Birthday card this week and join in the fun! Thanks for looking.

Little Red Wagon #29

It's Little Red Wagon Wednesday and my turn to post the challenge this week. I thought it would be fun to make something with a window in it!

For inspiration I made this very Spring-y card to celebrate this fabulous time of year! I decided to add a nice big circle window that shows a delicious fabric flower that I made.

Window cards are fun and easy to do and they entice you to open the card to see what is inside! I haven't added a sentiment to my card yet because I am not sure who I am giving it to and for what occasion.

Why not join us this week at Little Red Wagon? I would love to see your window creations:)

Finally

A warm sunny day with no plans. Maybe the patio/fence/garden project we started a couple of weeks ago will see some progress today!

Enjoy your Sunday!

Bookmark Pattern

I have had quite a bit of interest in the bookmark I made for our Little Red Wagon challenge yesterday so I thought I would provide the template that I used to make it.

You can just copy the image and make it any size you want. (I didn't make mine with the curved edge - I decided to just cut it straight across the top.) Then you can decorate it any way you like!

Have fun making your own bookmarks:)

Little Red Wagon #28

Happy Wednesday friends! This week's challenge at Little Red Wagon was brought to us by Deanna and she has challenged us to use brads on our creation.

For this challenge I decided to try something different and this is what I created.

I used some paper and a sticker that I had in my wagon, along with a bit of ribbon and one big, fat, paper-covered brad that I have had forever! Can you guess what it is that I made?

It is a bookmark! Isn't that clever? It is a little triangular pocket that fits neatly over the corner of your page and holds your spot in style! This little project is super easy to make and it can be really simple, like mine, or dressed up as much as you want. I also thought it would make a nice gift. I actually had my niece, Emily, who is an avid reader, in mind when I made this one.

So there you go! Why not take up the challenge this week and dig out your brads and make something awesome. As Deanna said, "Get 'em out and use 'em up!"

Thanks for looking~

Little Red Wagon #27

It's Little Red Wagon Wednesday! We have a great challenge today from Rosanne - pink and green! I love that color combination and I was so excited to make something with it.

When I saw the Twitterpated collection from Pebbles Inc. I knew it would be perfect for this challenge - and it was! I added some ribbon from my wagon and a little flower from Regan and I ended up with a very sweet card.

Now let's see what you can do with pink and green:) Hop over to Little Red Wagon to see what the other Girlfriends have created and join in the fun!

Be True To Yourself

I managed to complete another layout this weekend using the challenges posted by our Design Team at Two Scrapbook Friends. I combined Heather's sketch, Regan's challenge to use fabric and Deanna's challenge to use lots of embellishments!

Thanks for some great challenges friends! It was a great way to celebrate National Scrapbook Day!

Happy National Scrapbook Day!

Yes - today is National Scrapbook Day! I love the fact that there is a day set aside to celebrate this amazing hobby!

At Two Scrapbook Friends, we are holding crops and sales at our store, plus we are having some on-line fun on our Forum with special challenges posted by our Design Team and Carolyn and I. One of the challenges was to do a layout based on a sketch that I created. This is the sketch.

And this is my layout.

As soon as I saw this line from Cosmo Cricket I knew I wanted to create a page with it. But, I needed a photo with girls in it to do the design I had in mind. Thanks to my scrapbook friend, Darcy, I ended up with the perfect photo! Thanks so much Darcy!

It's not too late to join in the fun of National Scrapbook Day! Why not make something special to celebrate!
