A Wonderful Weekend!

This past weekend was a great time spent with family. I made a trip home on Friday to visit with my Mom and to attend a surprise birthday party for my sister, Mary! My niece, Danielle, planned the party which was held on Saturday. About 25 of us were hiding in her kitchen when she came home from a friend's house late in the afternoon, and she was totally surprised!! Unfortunately, I remembered to bring everything I needed to bring to the party, except my camera! That's right, not a single photo was taken! I was soooo disappointed!

Then I was on the road at about 7:00am on Sunday to head back home for our Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey, stuffing, salads, vegetable casserole and more were waiting to be prepared. There were just five of us for dinner, but we always make our traditional meal and it was wonderful!


I made up some place favors before I left for the weekend and they were a perfect compliment for our table.




I also hung my 'Giving Thanks' banner from the banner swap at Two Scrapbook Friends! It is so gorgeous and added a festive feel to our dining room.


As I look back on the weekend, I realize there is always so much to be thankful for. I hope your weekend was equally blessed.

    What a lovely weekend you had full of family, food and fun. Love the table setting(esp. the OCR, my pattern too). Those favours are such a special touch!

    I am so glad you had a good trip home and that Mary was surprised. I am very sorry you don't have any photos of it. That really sucks. I always look forward to the recap on your blog.

    You are a true 'Martha' when it comes to planning for holidays. Your table and decorations look awesome.
