I have always wanted to see the U.S. capitol and I was not disappointed in the least! In fact I was very impressed with how clean, safe and beautiful the entire area was. We actually stayed in Arlinton, VA, right across the river from Washington, so we took the subway in each day to the capitol area. From there we walked at least 10 miles a day as we toured the area! We also did a double-decker bus tour and we sat on the open upper level. It was a great way to see everything and to hear the history of area.

Despite our aching feet at the end of each day, we totally enjoyed our tour of the capitol. Our trip also included a number of Smithsonian Museums, the Zoo, the National Cathedral and some fabulous restaurants! I will be posting more photos in the next few days :)
Looks like an awesome tour. Glad you had a good time.
ReplyDeleteIt brought me a lot of great memories when I lived in D.C. and Arlington VA areas while studying at Gallaudet University. Glad you and your DH had a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteWow, your photos are awesome Joanne!
ReplyDeleteLooks fabulous...Nice weather too! My husband has visited Washington and says we will have to go back as a family someday! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures Joanne! I went on a trip to Washington in high school and loved it. Glad you had a great time with Mr. B. :)
ReplyDeleteWow--great photos Joanne! I went to DC when I was in high school, but didn't get to see many of those stunning buildings. I went as part of a mission group, so when I did see the White House, I was standing across the street at Peace Park feeding homeless people. It was an incredible experience!
