We are back from another fantastic weekend at the Oakwood Inn Golf Resort and Spa in Grand Bend, Ontario. Carolyn and I were joined by 140 scrapbook friends along with Carolyn's mom, Audrey, and my sister, Mary.
There is always so much that takes place during our weekend that it is almost impossible to take as many pictures as I want or to blog about everything that happened, but I managed to capture a few snippets of the fun we had.
Carolyn, Mary and I arrived on Thursday to unload and set up the store. That takes the most time and we were glad that we had an extra day to spend doing it. On Friday morning, we went into Grand Bend to pick up a few things and we stopped down by the beach for a fun photo shoot.
A kind gentleman came by just in time to snap this photo of the three of us. It was a beautiful day, very sunny and fairly warm, and we had fun with this little diversion before our guests arrived.
I always enjoy when Mary joins us because the only time she can scrapbook is when she comes for a visit. Plus, she gets all excited about any new products we have. This weekend, her biggest thrill was the Copic markers and Stamping Bella stamps we had. When our friends, Deanna and Regan, came by to do some demos with them, Mary was hooked!
She took in every bit of information she could and even came away with a sample that Deanna gave to her. She was thrilled!
The food was exceptionally good, especially the desserts, and we were surprised by a special treat on Saturday night - a chocolate fondue!
Everyone loved it and yes - I did eat dessert first! I couldn't help myself! But, I made sure I went back for the roast beef, vegetables and salads.
Besides scrapping and eating, we had some silly fun with 'Steal, or No Steal' a game Carolyn and I made up, plus some fun with the plastic pumpkins we had on each table. At the end of a warm-up exercise with the pumpkins, each table had to decorate theirs.
One of my favorites was Fannie, the Scrapbooker. Isn't this clever? Sporting her hip-hugger jeans and tattoo, she is totally absorbed in her scrapbooking magazine. Too cute! You can check out the Two Scrapbook Friends blog to see more photos of the crazy fun we had and the winning entry.
The weekend came and went all too quickly, but it was another great time of sharing our love of scrapbooking with everyone who attended. I can't wait until next time!
