December Daily

Thanks to the encouragement of some of my scrapbooking friends, I have decided to create a December Daily album.  December Daily is a way of documenting the month of December and the preparations leading up to Christmas.

I, for one, do not particularly enjoy December and the hustle and bustle and stress and expectations and shopping and busyness of the season.  I just try to survive all the things that need to be done in order to be ready for the holidays.  Every year I wish I could slow down and actually enjoy this holy season and not lose sight of what it is all about.

So I am hoping that by doing a December Daily album I can stop and smell the pine cones each and every day.  I can take one piece of each day and count it as grace and reflect on it and document it and maybe appreciate all the little blessing along the way.

I didn't want to feel overwhelmed by the process, so I actually have decided to take an antique drawer that I have had for a long time and then add a 4 x 6 journal card to it each day. I am hoping to include a photo, a bit of journaling and either a scripture verse or a quote on each card that will keep me focused on the reason for the season - the birth of Christ.

Here is a photo of my drawer...

and here is the front and back of my card for Day 1...

My scripture verse is tucked into the pocket in the front of the card.

I added some journaling to the back.

I hope to share this project with you throughout the month.  Are you doing a December Daily?  If you are, I would love to see what you create.  Leave a comment below and I will be sure to stop by :)

  1. I am not doing a december daily. I am, however, taking a photo each day and will hopefully do something special with them. I already cheated though, took two pics today!
