We went, we conquered and we are now back from our trip to CHA Summer!
What a whirlwind week it was! Our three days at the trade show were totally fabulous!
The manufacturer's booths were amazing,
we saw some of our favorite designers (including Donna Downey),
loved the new products,
did some fun make 'n takes,
and put in orders with just about every manufacturer there!
We also managed to go to SeaWorld, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, City Walk, the outlet mall, the Millenia Mall (It was one of the most upscale, luxurious malls I have ever been to! It even had a Tiffany's that we browsed in and I found a gorgeous diamond ring for only $350,000!), the Craft SuperShow, mini golfing, the world's largest Hard Rock Cafe and we saw Blue Man Group! Wow!
We also ate at various restaurants - the most impressive of which was Taverna Opa!
What a place! Between the music, the dancing and the food, it was like being at a huge Greek wedding! It was loud and fun and at any given time, half the restaurant patrons were up on the tables dancing - which made for lots of entertainment!
They did the Zorba, the traditional line dance, which everyone joined in and a very talented belly dancer walked around giving lessons to any willing person (talk about hilarious!). Plus there was a constant confetti of napkins being thrown around the restaurant.
The food was delicious and the whole evening was quite an experience - especially for our wide-eyed, teenaged sons!
Looking back over our week at CHA, I think we may have given the wrong impression to Spencer and Jason regarding what a trade show is all about! We kept telling them about all the hard work involved, but somehow I think they will never believe us when we tell them that in the future!
Oh well, you only live once!
