Best of Friends

This is a second layout that I completed last weekend. I used products from the Quite Contrary line from MME. I absolutely LOVE this new line of papers and embellies and I couldn't wait to create something with it.

I used one of my favorite photos of my sisters and myself. It is from one of our 'sisters weekends' that we try to take once a year. We truly are Best of Friends so the title was perfect! The chipboard pieces are from Cosmo Cricket and the buttons are from my stash.

Thanks for looking and have a great Friday:)

Little Red Wagon Challenge #17

I ♥ Wednesdays! Not only does it mark the middle of the work week, but it is also the day for a new challenge at Little Red Wagon!

It was my turn to post the challenge this week, and I chose Black and White. No color – just black and white.

For my card, I took some black and white ribbon from my wagon and gathered them into these fun little circles. Then I added them to a punched cardstock circle backed with a scalloped circle and created these gorgeous flowers. And of course, where there are flowers, there should be grass, right? So out came my fringe scissors once again and I made some fun polka dot grass! With a couple of rub-ons, buttons and floss, my card was complete.

Thanks for looking and be sure to join in the challenge! I would love to see your Black and White creation ♥

Sweet Wishes!

Did you know that our Design Team posts new challenges on the TSF Forum each week? They post card, layout and product challenges to keep us thinking about our scrapbooking and card making in different and exciting ways.

Recently Regan challenged us to make a shaped card. I hate to admit it, but I have never made a card in any shape other than square or rectangle before! So with my new Spellbinders Wizard embossing and die cutting system and Nestabilities dies, I decided to make a bracket shaped card.

I also used a new stamp set from My Cute Stamps! called Sweet Chocolate (I think they made this set just for me!). I added a little heart brad and some Glamour Dust to the image and a ribbon and pin for a finishing touch.

This was really fun to make! So, be prepared, you will probably be seeing a lot of shaped cards from me in the next little while!

Dude

I had an awesome weekend! My original plans for a visit from my sister fell through :( so I had the entire weekend to spend any way I wanted. With all the totally gorgeous new products that we have been receiving at the store, I decided it was the perfect time to do some creating.

This is the first of 3 layouts that I completed.

The inspiration for this layout came from this adorable image that I colored with with my Copic markers. Isn't he cute?

I knew I had the perfect pictures of Spencer to go with it and when I saw the new papers from My Minds Eye, Lush and Quite Contrary, it all came together very quickly! I added some chipboard letters from Basic Grey, a die-cut tree using the Cricut, some machine stitching, random buttons, twine and a brad.

It felt so good to be creative! I will be posting the other layouts soon.

Bird House

When Regan did a tutorial at Two Scrapbook Friends on how to decorate a birdhouse using your scrapbook supplies, I knew I had to make one for myself. We also needed an idea for an upcoming Kids Klub workshop, so I am using it as a sample for the class.

Here is my decorated birdhouse.

I used MME papers, punching circles for the shingles and using my fringe scissors for the grass. Then I added a couple of circles and buttons for the flowers and finished it off with some pom-pom ribbon and a bow.

I think our young scrapbookers will enjoy making their own. Thanks Regan for such a great idea!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #16

Happy Wednesday! Today we have a great challenge from Deanna for Little Red Wagon. It is to use ribbon! Next to buttons, I think ribbon is my favorite embellishment, especially for cards.

This is the card I created using some gorgeous teal ribbon.

Of course I couldn't resist adding a couple of buttons, a decorative pin and some twine. Be sure to check out all the great creations this week at Little Red Wagon.

Blessings ♥

Love Dwells Here

Happy Valentines Day! I was surprised by the heart fairy this morning who left some Cinnamon Hearts in my drawer! Next to chocolate, I love cinnamon hearts, so it was a sweet surprise to find on Valentines Day:)

Today is reveal day at Sketchabilities. We were given this awesome sketch to work with.

And this is what I created.

I used awesome papers and embellies from MME, Be Loved, BoBunny dot paper, Riff Raff Chipboard Houses and Adorn It Mini Alphas.

I have always wanted to make a layout using a photo of our home. The title, Love Dwells Here, describes our home perfectly, for which I am truly grateful.

May your Valentines Day be blessed with the love of those around you (and maybe just a bit of chocolate or cinnamon hearts)!

I am having so much fun making easel cards! They are easy to do and they look so pretty when they are on display. I decided to make another one using a new set of stamps that we received in the store. The stamps are from My Cute Stamps and this particular set has bird cages and birds - my ♥ be still!

If you would like to know how to make an easel card, I did up a Friendzy Friday Tutorial at Two Scrapbook Friends that you can follow. I know that once you give them a try, you will want to make them over and over.

Have a wonderful Friday ♥

Little Red Wagon Challenge #15

I love this week's challenge at Little Red Wagon! Rosanne wants us to use red and bling which is perfect since Valentines Day is quickly approaching!

First I made up this card using all left-overs from previous projects. Even though I added some glitter to the hearts before I put Glossy Accents on them it was really hard to see the 'bling' part of the challenge. So I went ahead and created a second card.

I have always wanted to try making an easel card so decided now was the time. I was sure to use lots of gems and I added some glitter to the blue bracket pattern on the card front.

I love how it turned out! For this card I used papers and rub-ons from Pink Paislee. I had fun layering about 4 different rub-ons on the front of the card and adding all the bling!

Thanks for a great challenge Rosanne! Be sure to head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the other Girlfriends have created!

Surviving Super Bowl Sunday

I don't mind football. In fact, if I had to watch a sport on TV, I would probably choose football. So with yesterday being Super Bowl Sunday, I was OK with the fact that for the men in my family, the entire day would probably center around the game - pre, during and post.

I also knew that I could only take so much of the excitement, so I planned on doing a bit of creating while my guys were glued to the TV. It ended up to be a great day and I had lots of fun working on a couple of different projects.

First off, I made a couple of button necklaces. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a bit of a button freak. Seriously, I LOVE BUTTONS! All the colors, shapes and sizes... they just make me happy. Recently I saw a blog somewhere that had this cool button necklace, so I decided to try making one for myself.

All I needed was some thin wire, ribbon and buttons! No problem! This is the first one I made...

which I really liked until my son said the middle three buttons looked like the face of a gecko! That sort of ruined it for me and now I am not so sure...

Then I changed up the colors and made a second one. (No negative comments on this one!)

They are super fun and easy to make. Maybe I will do a Friendzy Friday tutorial on them so you can try making one yourself?

Next up, I made a card. I bought a very cool pair of scissors that are made by Martha Stewart and I couldn't wait to make something using them. I had some Crate Paper stickers and paper, so I made this fun card.

The scissors are called Fringe Scissors and they have 5 non-stick cutting blades that cut the fringe on your paper really easily! Is that fun or what? So with the scissors, I cut the grass at the bottom using three layers of paper and I also fringed the circles that made up my flower. Easy peasy as Deanna would say! I wanted to keep cutting with them, but I decided to move onto my next project.

I have been working on my next layout for the Sketchabilities Design Team for a while and I really wanted to put the finishing touches on it. I added my photo, title and yes, buttons, and it is now completed. I can only show you a couple of detail shots until reveal day on February 15th.

I absolutely loved working with these papers and colors. You will have to check back for a full photo and all the details on February 14th ;-)

I hope you enjoyed your Super Bowl Sunday as much as I did! Now who was it that won the game...

Cuppie Cake

It has been a great week with Carolyn back from her trip to CHA! We have been busy catching up with each other and making lots of plans for all the goodies that she has ordered for our store.

In the meantime, we have received a number of new Cricut Cartridges that we have added to our store library. One in particular caught my eye - Sweet Treats! With this fabulous cartridge you can cut out cakes, ice cream cones, cupcakes, party hats, candles, etc. It is perfect for making die-cuts for your scrapbook pages or for cards and invitations.

We had also just stocked some gorgeous new papers from American Crafts that I so wanted to create with. So at the first opportunity, I made up a couple of cards combining the paper with some cupcake die-cuts!

Are they too cute or what?

The Cuppie Cake sentiment from Stamping Bella was perfect to go along with the cupcake image, and I also used my new Deckled Rectangles from Nestabilities to cut the background for the cupcakes!

You will have to stop into the store to see all the new Cartridges - they are amazing!

Little Red Wagon #14

This past week was week #13 at Little Red Wagon and there was nothing unlucky about it. We had over 100 submissions for our challenge to create something using hearts! Wow! It was amazing to see all the fabulous cards and layouts that all the girlfriends created.

So, here we are - it's a new week with a new challenge and we hope you dig into your wagon and join in the fun once again! This week Regan is challenging us to use chipboard on a project.

When I looked in my wagon, I found a package of chipboard houses that I have had for a while. So I used it as the inspiration for my card.

I covered the house with patterned paper and inked the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink.

For the background I used paper from a delicious paper pad from Cosmo Cricket, Earth Love. The sentiment is a stamp from Stamping Bella. The ribbon, twine and buttons were from my wagon.

Be sure to join in the fun this week!
